“A quarterback who is healthy and confident in Week 10 is worth more than one who peaked in Week 3.”

Give every quarterback in your program the same tools and routine Kinetex coaches use with NFL quarterbacks. The Team Pack bundles Kinetex Quarterback Performance Packs at a team price, plus a setup call and a throw-tracking system so your staff can run it from day one.

What's included

  • 4, 8 or 12 Quarterback Performance Packs. Each pack has four weighted plyo balls (225g, 450g, 1000g, 2000g), a light and a heavy resistance band, and a cinch bag.
  • A 45-minute Zoom with Will Hewlett, Kinetex quarterback mechanics specialist, to set up the routine with your staff: warm-up, weighted-ball work and recovery for your QB room. Will has worked with Brock Purdy, Caleb Williams, Josh Allen and 16 other NFL quarterbacks. He'll email you to schedule the call after you order.
  • Will's QB throwing volume tracker. A ready-to-use spreadsheet to log each quarterback's throws by practice segment, with daily ceilings and weekly totals that add up automatically. Shared with you after you order.
  • Free US ground shipping.

The 15-minute routine your QBs will run

Built on Dr. Tom Gormely's rule: warm up to throw, don't throw to warm up. It fits before any practice and takes no more than 15 minutes.

  1. Loosen up. Foam roll and mobilize tight areas: shoulders, hips and ankles.
  2. Get warm. A few minutes of light movement that gets progressively harder.
  3. Activate the shoulder (yellow band). Pull-aparts and rotational band work to turn on the rotator cuff and the muscles around the shoulder blade.
  4. Turn on the hips and spine. Activation work that connects the lower body to the throw.
  5. Plyo drills (weighted balls). Heavier balls to feel arm path and sequencing, then lighter balls to carry that into a faster arm.
  6. Play catch. Start short and easy, then build to full throws.

After practice and on off days, the red band handles strength and stability work.

A high school game week

Will's in-season throwing plan for a Friday-night game. These are targets, not rigid rules: adjust for each quarterback's arm health, recovery and how hard the last game was.

  • Monday: 70–100 throws. Error correction: fix mistakes and timing from the last game.
  • Tuesday: 80–120 throws. Building complexity: harder plays and receiver timing.
  • Wednesday: about 60 throws. Game simulation, including deep and pressure throws.
  • Thursday: 35–50 throws, ideally 35–40. Fine-tuning and mental sharpness.
  • Friday: game-day warm-up only.
  • Saturday and Sunday: full rest, no throwing.

Compare it with an NFL game week.

Coach FAQ

What creates the most arm fatigue?
Quick screens, bubbles and smoke screens; drive throws over 12 yards; deep throws on the run; and back-to-back throwing days. You can't avoid consecutive days, which is why volume should go up and down through the week. If a quarterback reports soreness or loses velocity, cut his volume right away. A reduced-volume day is always better than a missed game.

FAQ

Do NFL quarterbacks use weighted balls?

Yes. Weighted-ball and band work is part of many NFL quarterbacks' pregame and training routines, using the same activate, pattern, progress structure this kit is built around. See how NFL QBs prep their arm.

Can I improve my throwing velocity as a quarterback?

Yes! With the right plyometric throwing routine, you can significantly enhance your velocity, giving you an edge on the field.

How can this help improve my throwing mechanics?

When combined with the appropriate patterning drills, these tools will help refine your mechanics, leading to more accurate and powerful throws.

I can already throw the ball far; will this still help me?

Definitely! These products will not only help you throw farther but also enhance your overall performance and efficiency.

Are these tools suitable for my 12-year-old quarterback?

Yes. The kit is designed for quarterbacks of all ages. Younger QBs should start with the lighter 225g and 450g balls and the yellow band, and train under a coach's supervision before moving up to the heavier balls.
